Yokuchigakure no Sato



Located far beyond the green and fertile lands in which most of the world resides, the Village Hidden in the Oasis [Yokuchigakure no Sato | 沃地隠れの里] houses the largest population center in the desert sands of the inner continent. Situated over a massive underground reservior, the people here are merchants, artisans, scholars, and farmers by trade;  with highly specialized ninja units hired by outlanders providing for a rather large and stable income to the village. Wealth is easy to come by in the desert sands, if only one looks hard enough.

The Underground Oasis



Carved by hand and chakra over generations, the Underground Oasis was once little more than a natural flooded cavern which provided the water to the oasis above. Long ago, the natives realized that there was a massive source of fresh water to be had, and began to excavate the area to gain access. Over time, they begun to build shelters and such into the rocks, and eventually turned the cavern into the massive cityscape it is now. Fully half of the area and populace of Yokuchigakure lives and works by the crystalline lights of the underground world.
