The Village Hidden in the Ring of Fire [Hinowagakure no Sato | 隠れの里] is the capital village located in The Land of Grasslands [Sougen no Kuni | 草原の国]. The village itself is ancient; which the architecture tastes and fashion styles of the people reflect. Modern amenities and technologies are often hidden and worked into centuries old buildings. A focus on nature and preserving the environment has led the village to creating a massive wildlife preserve and veterinary hospital on the outskirts of the village itself; where civilian and ninja alike work together to make sure the next generation of children can enjoy the wonders of the wild lands beyond. Famous for its natural volcanic hotsprings, a thriving district of 'health resorts', traditional onsen, and hotels exists just beyond the edge of the sprawling market district; which contains both wet and dry markets, as well access to a literal treasure trove of specialty artisans.

The high grasslands that cover the vast territories of Sougen no Kuni; this region is filed with animals and wildmen, but little else. A few outposts and native villages dot the few trade routes and highways which are allowed through the territory. The citizens of the country prefer to use water or air trade to move goods and people, in order to facilitate the conservation of the wilderness and rarities within. Travel is not restricted, within reason, but strict rules about what is and isn't allowed to be taken into and out of the wildlands are enforced by ninja and civilian patrols.

Located far beyond the green and fertile lands in which most of the world resides, the Village Hidden in the Oasis [Yokuchigakure no Sato | 沃地隠れの里] houses the largest population center in the desert sands of the inner continent. Situated over a massive underground reservior, the people here are merchants, artisans, scholars, and farmers by trade; with highly specialized ninja units hired by outlanders providing for a rather large and stable income to the village. Wealth is easy to come by in the desert sands, if only one looks hard enough.

Carved by hand and chakra over generations, the Underground Oasis was once little more than a natural flooded cavern which provided the water to the oasis above. Long ago, the natives realized that there was a massive source of fresh water to be had, and began to excavate the area to gain access. Over time, they begun to build shelters and such into the rocks, and eventually turned the cavern into the massive cityscape it is now. Fully half of the area and populace of Yokuchigakure lives and works by the crystalline lights of the underground world.
